I began my study of art in 1999. I have studied under the instruction of nationally ranked artists as Gary
Jenkins, Van Thompson (a well known Harford County artist) and Rita Cooper.
Following my stroke in 2005, I began devoting more time to painting, studying oil painting with master marine
artist Bill Blackman, portrait art with award winning Johnnie Liliedahl and modern master Caroline Jasper among others. I
have also studied acrylic painting with nationally recognized artist Jerry Yarnell and watercolors with Mark Polomchak and
Tom Lynch.
Soon I realized the therapeutic benefits of art on my stroke recovery. In fact, I credit the degree of my
recovery to not only the fabulous team of doctors at Upper Chesapeak and University of Maryland Hospitals, as well as the
therapists at Sinai Rehabilitation and Gary Lynch in Forest Hill; but also the undeniable benefits realized from the pusuit
of my art.
My paintings are intended to evoke a feeling of hope, spiritual peace and above all the joy of life. My works
appear in numerous private collections and will be on display at Barnes and Noble, Marketplace Drive in Bel Air (Maryland) for
the month of January 2007, Fast Frames of Rock Spring (Maryland) and Dancing Heart Gallery in Havre de Grace (Maryland). Art
work will also be displayed at Liriodendron Museum in Bel Air (Maryland) in 2008.
Recently I was selected to re-create, as paintings, the photographs in the just released Ed and Zoeann Murphy
book "Vietnam Our Father Daughter Journey". In words and photographs, the book depicts the beauty and mystery of the country
that affected a generation.
I hope you enjoy brousing through my heart filled treasures, as I have enjoyed every brush stroke. Please
